  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Well, i sparked mine up last night and it was a great cigar!

First things first: Thanks to Bob for giving it to me! And i got a really pleasant prelight of cinnamon and dark coffee beans. The first few draws were intense on the lips and brought a lot of spice and earthy notes. That soon mellowed out to a smoot, sweet inhale a finish of spice and peppers. It reminded me of salsa :) There was also a nice citrus taste that i picked up near the end of the smoke.

Thanks for reading guys and let's see your reviews!

I really enjoy the Anejo. However, despite its name... it is definitely a MUCH better smoke with some more age on it IMHO (as are most Fuente products).
I think that must be true. I had my first a few months ago--a year old, and awesome. I've had two of this year's batch since then, both were lousy.

I smoked my Anjeo (#46 I belive) last night. I ended up taking more off the cap than I wanted :stickbeat which made the draw a little looser than I'd have liked, but it was okay and not the fault of the cigar at all. The cigar's appearance was immaculate, dark brown color, gorgeous. The prelight draw was of a slightly sweet tobacco. The first few puffs were diappinting, just some mild tobacco flavor, after about a half inch in things picked up. I picked up mostly an earthy tobacco flavor with some occassional chocolatey sweetness. There wasn't much complexity throughout the cigar, but this doesn't generally bother me as long as it's not a bad flavor profile (which this wasn't). This cigar produced copious amounts of thick smoke. I had a few burn issues in the last 1/3 when it kept going out and I kept having to relight, but I did relight so that says something. Overall it was a nice cigar, but for the price I was expecting more from it. Perhaps my palate just isn't developed enough to enjoy its nuances, maybe it just needed some more age, or maybe the Henry Clay I had earlier in the evening detracted from the flavors of the Anjeo...I'm not sure. Would I smoke it again? Yes, but only if I got a good deal on it. For the price of this cigar I could buy a 5er of something I really enjoy.
