Arcangel Cigar Review
9:30 at night, its a muggy 80 degrees here in Atlanta. Wife & kid are at the movies, so perfect time to fire this up. Im on the deck with the dogs; ceiling fan is on, tiki torches lit. Putting some Buffet on the radio and having lemonade.
Beautiful stick, no hard or soft spots. Punched cut with a large diameter & draw is just a hair loose of perfect. Cold draw has a rich, dark tobacco taste, just slightly sweet on the lips.
Fired right up without an issue, initial flavors are like the cold draw; deep rich tobacco flavor. No spice, finish is rather short but pleasant. Turns out the Google Play Jimmy Buffet radio station sucks out loud, changed to some Kid Rock.
½ inch in, the finish is much longer now with an almost-but-not-quite spice on the tongue, more of an astringent taste, slightly drying but still very pleasant. About an inch in, there is a noticeable mineral taste that lingers on the front of the tongue, with the drying mostly towards the back. Burn is very straight, but the ash is slightly flaky so I plan on ashing shortly to avoid wearing it. Seems Google Play radio stations think that they should always follow a jam with some BS ballad; changing to my Blues Travelers albums.
2 inches in (thats what she said) the mineral and astringent flavors have muted quite a bit, and there is a clear creamy taste that is very, very nice. Ash is much less flakey so well see how long it goes. Burn line is near perfect.
About at the half way point, the not quite spice flavor is back in a big way. Its not an upfront punch of pepper, but a heat that lingers quite a bit. Ash has held on for a solid inch+ and burn is perfect. Feels like Im getting a bit of a nic rush so power is ramping up a bit, but the overall flavor is still med+.
At about 4 inches or so the flavors get muddled quite a bit. Im definitely rushing from the nic, but Im something of a lightweight in that department. Its about 10:50 so Im going to call it a night.
Very nice stick, I loved, loved, loved that creamy flavor that came out towards the front. This is a solid med+ for power and flavor.
Thanks so much for CA Joe and letting me try this stick out!
