  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I was also one of lucky fellows to get to sample the Arcangel Cigar that CAJoe was giving out.

I'm going to review it as I smoke it. I'm not a reviewer so just hang with me. Lets get this sh*tshow started.

Smoking on my front porch while watching the Japanese Beetles devour my rose bushes. Drink of choice is Diet Mountain Dew (anyone who knows me won't be surprised).

Initial thoughts...
I like the way it looks. A blotchy, caramel colored wrapper. My sample is in excellent shape. The band is ok. A little cheesy IMO....but hey, this is coming from the dude who likes the La Sirena bands. The smell of the cigar is super sweet. Almost pipe tobacco sweet. Sweet like the nether regions of a beautiful red headed lady.

Cold draw is sweet...but not as sweet as the initial sniff of the cigar. A nice, subtle fig and tobacco flavor....lets light it up.

First few puffs are of dry tobacco...bread crust and a very subtle mint. The mint threw me off. No spice for me at all. And no sweetness like I got on the cold draw. I would compare this to a hybrid of an EPC Core line and EPC New Wave

Ok...gonna smoke for a bit. Be back soon with an update.

First check in....

So far much of the same. I am getting a small spice on the tip of my tongue. Just the tip though. Not the whole thing. Just the tip. It's a mild cinnamon spice though. Makes me think maybe I confused the cinnamon with mint.

Burn and draw are perfect. Only thing not perfect is that I just noticed the flowers my mother in law planted in front of the porch are growing in slanted.

Final thoughts...

Didn't change much from last post so decided wait til end. Spice subsided and finished off tasting much the same as it started. Which some guys want their cigar to change as they smoke. I don't care. It was a very good mild cigar. I would smoke it again. Depending on price I would buy a few more but wouldn't stock up because I generally like fuller bodies. Cigars....and women.

I think this cigar will do very well amongst mild to medium fans.

Thanks CAJoe for the opportunity. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
