  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Size: 6X52 (Apologize for blurry Pics guys)
Binder: Dom. Rep. Filler: Dom. Rep. Wrapper: Ecuador Sun Grown For those who desire a powerful and intoxicating flavor with a complex rich finish, look no further than Ashton VSG cigars. The VSG is blended exclusively for Ashton cigars by Carlos Fuente Jr. using 4 to 5 year old aged Dominican tobacco taken from the finest and most fertile plants. The distinct flavor of Ashton VSG cigars comes from its wrapper grown on a private estate in Ecuador owned by the Oliva family where this proprietary wrapper leaf is grown for the Fuente Family exclusively for Ashton VSG Cigars. The leaf is taken from the higher primings and matures slowly by sunlight filtered through the regions natural cloud covering. The result is the rich intoxicating wrapper which has made the Ashton VSG the most in demand cigar on the market today.

As always the with any of the VSG's or ESG'g these cigars are just beautiful in my opinion. They always feel meaty and oily to the touch. Even though I've had most of the VSG's I find this one to be the one I like the most...There's just something about it.
As I get ready to clip the head, I run my nose up and down the stick and then to the foot. The smell is sweet tobacco and spice...Very pleasant!
After searing the foot good I proceed to light and enhale.
Getting into the first half inch of this cigar is very smooth. Not alot on the pepper or anything harsh. As it starts to settle The flavors become more pronounced and in the first third I'm getting a nice light pepper and leather with some sweet spice. I am not a huge fan of alot of leather but this ciagr is light on that taste and more on the spice and tobacco.
The Burn is very nice and sharp and the ash holds nice and firm. The Draw is perfect and the smoke is ample.

Getting into the second third of this cigar, I get what taste like a dark coffee notes and the spice complements it well enough to make you forget about the other hints of leather or pepper. This is where the cigar to me hits the sweet spot. I have to tell myself to slow down or risk splitting the wrapper taking to big of drags. just as with the first third of this cigar the ash is nice and so is the burn. It seems like it takes no time at all and were already at the band. I really love the flavor this ciagr is putting out. The spice is hard to explain but it is just wonderfull.

In the final third of this cigar I can taste the pepper kicking back in. The spice is still nice and strong, as well balancing out the strength of the cigar which has picked up a bit. As I get to the end the cigar is starting to burn hot which is the only dissapointing thing I have to say about this cigar. The Eclipse in my opinion was a Med-Full smoke with great flavors. I tried my best to smoke it to the nub but it just got to hot on the lips and i had to put it down at about an 3/4's to an Inch. Total smoking time was 90 minutes.

My final thought on this cigar? Well Again, I think this VSG is the standout of them all. It's possible because it's tubed it captures it's oils better than it's counterparts. Either way I really like this cigar alot and always try and keep a couple on hand. If you have not had one I would highly recommend it and it's not that much out of anyones budget at $11-$12 dollars.
Thanks for your Time!!
