Mr.Draned
The Grey Rooster
I got this smoke via a customer service issue at a retailer in Philadelphia.
So, I figured that it would be good for my first review.
I'm no expert, so bear with me.
The prelight draw was very tasty, a bit of mellow nuttiness in there.
1/3 = The initial light was very pleasurable. The smoke was thick and heavy, and tasted good on the palette. During this time I was getting slight hints of leather, a bit of very mild pepper, and wood. Overall, not too bad.
2/3 = As the cigar got going, the flavors developed and gained more depth. The leather was stronger, more nuttiness, and the pepper flavor arrived in a very good way. More pronounced, but not in your face and unpleasant. The smoke got thicker and more enjoyable as well.
3/3 = I needed a roach clip, b/c this got smoked to the nub. Fingers burning and all! It got a little hot and spicy, but I slowed down the puffing and it balanced out. The pepper at the end was enjoyable because it still didn't kill all other flavor. The smoke was heavy and awesome, and all the flavors mentioned earlier were in full force.
This was a good cigar, and I would definitely buy one in the future if the price point was a little lower. I may however let it sit for about 6 months to a year to see how it develops.
