Here is my extremely amatuer review of the Ashton VSG Illusion:
Very beautiful looking lonsdale. Nice reddish brown wrapper. Has that toothy look of any sun grown wrapper. Pre-lit draw had a nice, sweet tobacco taste
Started off spicey and was a touch bitter. It quickly began to have an uneven burn. Nothing major, but required a few touch ups. About an inch in, the bitterness disappeared and it mellowed out. It had an undertone of spice, nothing major but definitely there. Lots of smoke, with a nice white ash.
Towards the midway point, still had the hints of spice coming through, almost peppery. However, it still had an uneven burn requiring a touch up. Around that point my neighbour came out with his dog and poked his head over the fence, saying that smells good! What is it? He only understood when I said its Dominican.
After the midway, it began to smooth right out. Tastes of roasted almonds and a creamy, almost buttery taste. The burn evened out, but was still not perfect.
At the end, it picked up some spice, but maintained the roasted almonds and buttery taste
Overall, a tasty little biscuit that lasted around an hour.
