  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

This cigar caught my interest as it's an old favorite of mine but fell off my radar due to inconsistencies I've felt and other cigar interests. After trying the round and new size, the Pegasus, the VSG's are back on it. Here goes...hope you enjoy.

Construction-A few veins show and feel a bit rough on the uniformly colorado/brown colored wrapper. It's round but not perfectly, has some flatness on it's sides probably from packing in the box.

Burn/Draw-Great Draw and plenty of smoke, not a razor but even. The ash is flaking slightly at the 1/3 point.

Flavor/Aroma

1/3-Nutty at first, like a cashew, cedar, peppery, coffee, creamy, oak, sweet tea. Aroma is cedar and coffee.

2/3-More of the same, a flinty/mineral quality emerged. Strength picked up and a some harshness, catching a buzz from it. Hint of leather and a softer cedar in the aroma

3/3-Purged a 3 inch flame! More of the same, cedar intensifies. Picked up a bit of chocolate, though I've been drinking water it could be from the couple Hershey's chocolate nuggets I ate after catching the buzz over 30 minutes ago.

Burn time- 1:50

Overall-8.9/10 Very good now and complex. As common knowledge, VSG's can age nicely with 2-3 plus years and I'm looking forward to it. Good to be smoking VSG's again!
