  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Bit early maybe to be posting a HERF for the end of summer, but since it's going to be in Canada, I figured I'd give plenty of notice for anyone that may need travel documents (must have a passport to cross the border).

Date: Fri/Sat/Sun August 26-28th
Location: bdc30's place, Dutton Ontario
Basic Map

From the west, we're about a 90min drive from the Detroit/Windsor border and about 1hr15min from the Port Huron/Point Edward Crossing. From the east, we're 30min west of London. We have a decent sized yard and can probably find space for 10-15 tents, along with some random couches and things in the house. Bottom line, we'll find a place for as many people as possible.

The plan at this point is flexible, but the idea is to "open up" around 4pm on Friday. I'd like to try and get a golf game together Saturday morning. There's a little 9 hole, par 35 track just down the road from my place - we could play 9 or 18 depending on level of interest.

The actual event will start Saturday around 1pm and run until we feel like stopping...lol We'll provide the burgers and sausages, some pop and munchies and have the bbq going for the afternoon. Alcohol is byob, but there's a beer/liquor store less than a 2min walk from my house if you'd rather just buy here. Everyone's welcome to stay Saturday night and leave whenever you feel like on Sunday.

Anyway, that's about as far as I've gotten to now -- plans obviously subject to improve as we get closer. If you have any questions or suggestions, post em up and let's make this THE way to wrap up the summer.

Cheers

Well, Nancy and I will be there. Even if we need to order pizza. You do have pizza in your parts don't ya?

It's starting to sound like more guys can make it down on the Friday than the Saturday, which is no problem. I'm home all day and there will be plenty of grub for both days.

Told Nancy I was told to bring my sticks. She said I should. Hmmm, this is either excellent or a set up. I smell a rat.

Anyhoo. Looking forward to it.

Thanks to everyone that was able to make it out. I appreciate you guys making the trek.

Special thanks to Speedbump for the blind tasting cigars, we had a lot of fun tossing ideas back and forth.

I think we may have even recruited a couple of new botl's in the process.

Cheers!

Thanks to The Claytons for being such great hosts to the Hendys. It was a pleasure to meet you Shaun, Shaun, and Shaun. Any yes, I seem to have a lot to say sometimes. Never was like that until I married into the Italian Family. Shit, all they do is talk. And over one another.

Anyhow, had an awesome time including almost killin me a bluehair. But that's another story.

Speedy, as always, thanks again for the kindness and donation to the herf. It's surprising that the sticks you picked are all sticks I had smoked within the last 3 days and one was this morning before the tasting. Thank you thank you.

Till next time,
