I was looking into a heating pad for my cooler and fornd this:

The favorite heat pad of European herp owners is now available in America. Flexible and durable, these mats are made of reliable, accurate copper elements. Provides uniform, evenly distributed heat at a constant 100 degrees F.

What do you think about it. I would plug it into my remote temp controller, so it will not be on all day.

I wouldn't use it, personally. A little bit of cold isn't going to hurt anything. Just keep an eye on the RH.

I have seen the temp drop to 63 so it might be even colder at night. This would not be a problem for a few weeks?

I wouldn't mind keeping my cigars at 50 degrees as long as the RH could hold, it would just be hard to keep it high enough at colder temps. RH is much more of a concern...but rapid cooling and heating is where you'll run into problems like split wrappers. As long as the temp swing isn't dramatic stogies can be kept at pretty cool temps with no problems as far as I know.

I concur with what others have already advised...I put a heating pad in my Avanti and have never had to turn it on. Now maybe if the unit was in an unheated garage or something where the temp would dip into the 30s, but low 60s is about perfect.

NO HEATING PAD! Unless you are dropping to extremely low temps you are just asking for trouble. Temps are not really that much of a concern unless they are changing rapidly and then it is only a concern in how it relates to RH changes.

Hah, This is funny. Sorry, I've never heard of anyone wanting to use a heating pad on their cooler. But you should be fine even if it goes a little bit below 60.
