Is it Nicaraguan
Absolutely AJ's finest.
I just nub'd arguably for me what is one of the top 3 cigars I have smoked all year.
From the pre-light draw unto the final puff, this cigar lived up to the hype.
The cigar is clothed in a fine Brazilian Oscuro wrapper which perhaps accounts for the sweet nuances throughout the entire stick. The blend of the Honduran binder and the Nicaraguan filler complement each other nicely. The wrapper is oily without spot or blemish. Truly an artisans work!
1st third was peppery with a complex mix of warm vanilla and almonds. The smoke was dense and the finish is long and very tasty. Towards the end of this a little power crept in and dulled the almond but rich coffee took it's place.
2nd third was superb. A mix of honey sprinkled with woodiness mixed with nuttiness and white pepper. This stick just kept getting better and better. There were blasts of power that were intermittent that let you know this stick was not for the meek.
Final third, berries, nuts and nutmeg were discernible throughout with the spice as a constant. The smoke was buttery smooth and the finish lasted forever.
Also, the aroma put off by this cigar was as good as it gets. I found myself fanning it towards my nose in order that I could take in the full effect of it's richness.
At their price point, these are not an everyday smoke however, I'd put it up there with a PAM 64/26 any day of the week. I picked up three of these and I plan to smoke the other two in short order. If I enjoy a repeat experience I will be ordering a box.
