bourbon cigars and poker
Not sure if this is proper place for this review as I didn't see a B&M thread. I went to a local B&M, Cigar Pointe in San Antonio Texas, this weekend based on friends recommendations. I was so let down and disappointed with my experience. I'm in customer service been in it for 20 plus years and have never been treated this way. So here is my experience.
1) store was very nice clean easy to get to.
2) was greeted when I entered the store
3)went into humidor area decent size and there was a very interesting selection. I am new to the game and there were some I knew and more that I didn't know but looked interesting.
4) owner is out front chatting with his buddy no big deal so far. But after doing quite a few laps around the store I thought he would have asked if ok or if I had any questions. Nope so a few more laps I notice a ad board on wall for Kentucky Fire Cured so I ask him if he has any as I didn't see them. His answer was "god I hope not" Really? I hope not??? What I like is what I like it's not your job to tell me it's crap. It's your job to sell it to me or steer me to something similar I may like. Maybe I wasn't buying them for me but for a friend. So I then ask about the Blind Man's Bluff. Said I hadn't tried one yet but was curious about them as I have heard varying reviews on them. His answer "if they weren't any good would I sell them?" If I wasn't taken aback so much I would have answered well apparently you sold KFC'S so you tell me.
I guess overall I'm upset because I'm in retail customer service myself and I would never think to talk to a customer that way especially a customer I didn't know. And also I thought as BOTL we are a brotherhood to help each other. To steer our friends into new directions of things they may like.
Guess I'll be searching for other B&M's in the area. Keep it smoky brothers.
