  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Baltimore, MD-need shop suggestions.

Going out with a good friend to hit a few shops early next week, and we wanted to see if anyone had some ideas on where to visit. We've been to The Humidour before, and will probably hit them up again. Any more ideas on good places?

Humidour is my favorite.

Mt. Washington Cigar has a great smoking area and a decent humidor. Kinda pricey though. Its down 83 off Cold Spring Lane (on Falls Rd.)

Fader's in Towson (right near the circle) is a good spot too. Last time I was there the smoking area was a little crowded but I believe they've since renovated.

There's also a Fader's in Catonsville (small smoking area, nice sized humidor) and owings mills (small smoking area and smaller humidor)

Davidus is also in Ellicott City. Very nice smoking room with a nice humidor.

Thanks for the tips! I'm headed up that way, and we have a list of 6 shops to try and hit tonight. Not sure that we can make all of them before they close, but I'll sure try for it! Starting with Davidus to kick things off.

Davidus was a great shop. We went there first and found they had a nice selection, and very fair prices. He had a few sticks I had been looking to find, but didn't carry but 2-3 Illusione cigars, and nothing from Tatuaje or LFD. The lounge area looked really nice, but was a bit small-also noticed it wasn't in use at all! I picked up the rest of their Dirty Rats, and a handful of small smokes for my girl.

Next we hit a shop my buddy had found near his house-Tobacco Center. It was a really interesting setup. You walk in and it's all setup as a hooka bar. Walk through a GIANT section that's like it was the dining area of a restaurant-with several TV's. Then they have a small kitchen, and a humidor in the back. The humi had very reasonable prices. A handful of each of the main boutique brands and even had some Anejo's in stock.

Then we went to Humidour. I've been there before and knew of their selection. I'm still on the fence on that place. They refused to swap out my broken Xikar lighter. I thought those were supposed to be replaced on the spot? The guy that went into the humidor with me was VERY pushy. He showed me what was new, and was getting all excited that I wasn't making a decision fast enough for him. I asked about a few specific cigars, and was told they didn't have them. I quickly found them on my own! Again, very solid prices, and we were invited to stay and watch the MNF game, and he made sure we dug into the free food that was available. Some prices were higher than other shops, others were lower-all were within $0.50 per stick.

The giant space is supposed to be a cafe area. I'd be curious to go back on a non football night since it looked like they'd pushed all the tables out of the way.

The guy at the Humidour wasn't thinking straight, the game was on. We were playing the Jets and they'd be talking shit all week not to mention their head coach was one of our coaches. I'll cut him some slack on that :p and he gave us a tour of the upstairs so that was cool. I had to try hard not to laugh out loud either at you and your shenanigans. But I'm with you on the Xikar deal, that kind of made me go wha? that seems odd.

Thanks for the information. Sitting in Fader's in Catonsville right now and enjoying a Padron 26 series. Nice humidor and small smoking area to stay out of the damp outdoor weather.

Best regards, tony

There is also a place called Titan Cigars about 20 min from Baltimore. I've never been but it looks like a nice lounge and they have a nice selection of drinks from what I can see on their site. G1

Davidus has always had good shops. I used to work there back in the college days to have some spending money. I have not seen any Tats in their shop whenever I've stopped in on trips back home.
