  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Is it just me, or is the trend the last few years been for bigger and gaudier bands on nc's?
Almost seems like they are in a competition for who can have the largest or gaudiest bands.
Kinda turns me off seeing a really large, gaudy band on a Cigar. Just doesn't look very classy to me like small, simple cc bands are.

I don't mind a flashy band. What annoys me is the billboard sized bands that cover 3/4 of the cigar. You can't really inspect the cigar and you can't generate enough heat to loosen all of the the pectin. So, it is easy to rip the cigar.

The band doesn't have to be classy or elegant, but they definitely shouldn't interfere with the cigar.

I think I'm more annoyed with foot bands. They can be difficult to get off sometimes, the ones on my EPC Pledges are super tight and don't slide off that easy, so I'm reduced to picking at the tape to get them off.
Yeah, I agree that sucks sometimes when you can't just slide them off.
Only good thing is that nc maker's dont go crazy with the glue on the band's like cc makers do. They can be a real bitch to get off without ripping the wrapper

Very true. I have seen a number with ridiculously huge bands
