I want to do a twist on the stuffed pepper recipe but i don't know what I want to make with a bell pepper.

I could halve it toss in rice & mongolian beef, but I also want to maybe dredge it, deep fry it and use it as a bowl for Chedder Chowder.

It's not scooby and batman...but just asking.

Use it as a bowl for a risotto with pepper in it.

Though, ideas for kids; I always loved to eat clam chowder out of bread!

I knew you'd chime in sooner or later buddy.. that sounds like a great idea. Now if only my lazy ass would make it to the kitchen to cook some.

:smokingbo Or use it as a bowl for some strong melted cheese, topped with a spicy chorizo, and serve at a bbq (Use it as individual portions; and bbq the pepper beforehand as well).

I'm trying to break the kids out of the meal in a box mentality. They lke bell peppers but it's hard to get them to try out new things. Mom is hardcore WASP and her cooking is straight out of the WASP cookbook. Vanilla as vanilla can be.

12 & 13. Their fav-o-rite meal is Top Ramen. Personally I hate the slop but they dig it.

I might have them make the pepper with Cheddar Chowder but am also going to have them make a roasted corn & anaheim chili medley to go with it. Risotto is a favorite of mine to make but I don't have the patience to teach it to the kids yet. The last time I made it I was the only one who ate it.

Corn Medley -
Roasted corn on the cob (Has to be frozen this time of the year)
Anaheim chili
Mexican Onion
Cliantro
Red Bell pepper
garlic
-MAYBE a squeeze o' lime

Cheddar Chowder -
2 cups boiling water
2 cups diced potatoes
1/2 cup sliced carrots
1/2 cup sliced celery
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Add water to potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper. Cover; simmer 10 minutes. Do not drain.

Make white sauce with margarine, flour and milk. Add cheese; stir until melted. Add undrained vegetables. Heat; do not boil.

Bell pepper -
Halved lengthwise, light batter, deep fry
