  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Anyone have a favorite pair of cigar scissors?

I have a Xikar Multi-Tool, a no-name pair of scissors, they were like $15 and a pair of Lamborghini - the old Lamborghini. I like those three, but the no-name brand is kind of shabby, the handle bent when they go knocked on the ground and stepped on, the Lamborghini scissors are dull now, and the Xikar Tool stays on the keychain. I'd like a nice pair that I can have next to my humidor, nothing like Davidoff's $300-$400 scissors, but something with a sharpe blade, and sharp looks. Say around $100 (or less!).

Thanks for suggestions!

Yeah, I love my Palios. I have one for home which doesn't get much use, and one for going out-n-about. I just have a weird thing about using scissors at home, so I'd like to get a quality pair. I'll check out those Cuban Crafters - I've seen their other "regular" scissors, but not this 3-blade-circular one...?

I am also looking into scissors to use at home, I also have a weird believe into using scissors. For the Cuban Crafters, I am looking into their normal scissors, it cost only $9.99; have you seen it at your B&M? a quality one?

Personnally, that 3 blade circular one is not my cup of tea, I just judge it by its looks.

Cuban Crafetrs makes a scissor type cutter that has a circular blade with 3 blades. It cuts well and is about $35.. I still prefer my Palio though!
Bill are you talking about these?

I bought a set due to their novelty and found it pretty much blows. Compared to a SAK and a Palio I have not found any cutters worth shit. In my eyes SAKs and Palio are tied. Each has a benefit of it's own.

Those are the ones. I wasn;t sure of the price though, since I got mine for a gift! They are ok, but still like the Palio. The scissors give a different cut.

I have a Zino Platinum Swiss Army Knife that has a scissors cutter similar to the following:

Have had the cutter for 6-7 years and cut all my cigars with it...and has to be the best cutter I have had over the years.

Wow, that's a great price for that... I know two of my smoke buddies who paid $75 and $79 respectively for that exact cutter.

Thanks for the link.

no problem. And they come up on cigarbid.com every so often (maybe once a week or so). Got mine there for $40 :)

Thanks Chuck, much appreciated.

I stumbled across PlatinumCigars.com and they have them, only the "Large" size in Gold and Nickel, but they are in the U.S.

oneday-

Got my Donatus scissors in the mail today, tried them out and they are great! They cut just as well as my buddies Davidoff scissors and they were almost 1/8 the price! We'll see how well they hold up to the test of time, but from what you've said, and how they look, I think they'll be great.
