  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Best Steaks?

I've done Benihanas before, but I would not say that is one of the country's best steaks. Houstons would whoop that all over the place, as would Mastro's.

I'm a bit partial to the steaks that come off my own grill. I am not a fan of restaurant steaks and I rarely get them. Sometimes I do and I'm pleasantly surprised. There's a local fancy pants restaurant here in Harrisburg that has a "tuscan ribeye" and it's probably the best tasting steak in town.

I've had the Lawry's prime rib––nothing memorable, to me.
The Smith & Wollensky filet mignon, as far as I remember, was good.
I love the porterhouse at Peter Luger––that's probably the best steak I've ever had (at a restaurant). Their fries and creamed spinach and house brews are really good, too.

ha, like new york has the best steaks!
jess and jim's is a about 45 minutes from me. they're ok, but i haven't been there in years. went to smith and wollensky in chicago a few years back. it was good. i just can't spend $50 on a steak that i can do at home. if i'm gonna spend that much, or more, for a steak, i better get a hander with it!

I agree about the steaks are best from home! I honestly never buy steak when I go out to eat. Just seems like kind of a waste of money, since it's something I feel I could do better at home. I like to try more original dishes from whatever eatery I'm at.

I have been to a S&W in Boston and did not care for it. There are a few places that get my nod in Boston.
1: Grill 23
2: Flemings
3: Capital Grill

But like a few said I prefer to grill my own.

we've got ruth's chris and capital grill in k.c. too. previously had morton's, but they didn't make it. usually people tend to like the hometown places like the herford house. but i tend to prefer the plaza III.
