  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Initial Impressions

Appearance: 88
Aroma: 88
Construction: 88

“This cigar felt a little hard, it had some medium sized veins, and a nice chocolate brown color.” -Craig (WyldKnyght)
“The aroma is fantastic, I’m getting mostly chocolate with a little fresh tobacco.” -Emmett (rhetorik)
“It looked like it was wrapped with two different wrappers, both in color & texture. A couple of the seams were pretty rough, but it was solid with no soft spots.” -Robert (NavyPiper)

First Third

Flavor: 89
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“Nice spice character, with backing notes of cocoa and cedar, especially the latter.” -Myles (MylesT)
“This cigar started out with a good draw, even burn and a nice solid dark ash. There was lots of creamy smoke and sweet smoked wood and almond flavors.” -Craig (WyldKnyght)

Second Third

Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“Slight harshness here and there, but otherwise pleasant. Same spice tone from the first third, but leanin more toward leather and black coffee here. “ -Myles (MylesT)
“The burn has gone a little wonky but the flavors are still amazing. It has transitioned into a more woody flavor of oak and I’m getting some leather and cream now. Just amazing.” -Emmett (rhetorik)

Final Third

Flavor: 89
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“No changes for me, it had the same peppery cedar all the way through” - Ian (Sp@rky426)
“This I think was my favorite third. After a mellow pleasant start, followed by a ‘Power Shot’ on flavor intensity, this third was the relaxing third I guess you could say. Intensity of the flavors toned down quite a bit, maybe a little softer than the first third. The floral/perfume flavor is still top dog, but began getting a hint of black pepper at the end.”

Overall Impressions

Draw: 89
Burn: 89
Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body: Medium-Full

“Nicely constructed burn and draw very good but flavor wasn’t something that fit my profile. Too much spice for my liking and a very strong stinky smell while burning.” -Ian (Sp@rky426)
“This was a good cigar. I’d probably smoke it again, but would not go out of my way to track it down.” -Craig (WyldKnyght)
“This cigar was very impressive, one of the best smokes I have had in a long time. The transitions were bold and eventful, the flavors were full but not overpowering. Everything was in balance. If I do not already have some of these in my collection I will seek them out.” -Emmett (rhetorik)
“It was ok. Not amazing, not terrible. Just ok.” -Myles (MylesT)
“This was an interesting experience for me. Almost like the story of the “Ugly Duckling” in a way. I wasn’t super impressed with the looks or construction, but was really surprised by the flavors. I haven’t had many floral/perfume tasting cigars in my time, but this was interesting, and glad I got to try it out. Don’t know if I would buy a box, but I did enjoy this stick. Worst part was the appearance/construction, as the wrapper started coming loose in a couple of different places….” -Robert (NavyPiper)

Overall Experience: 88
Smoking Time (in minutes): 63
Total Score: 88 (Good)
