  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Blind Review:

Size: Corona extra

Smoke time: 6:58 pm - 7:55 pm

Appearance: Nice triple cap, light tan wrapper with a couple green discoloration spots, minimal veins, fairly seamless with slight wrinkles

Pre light: Smells of light pepper and hardy tobacco. The cold draw is minty and tastes of black licorice

1st puff.JPG
1st Puff: The minty flavor is very present mixed with tons of black pepper and hay with a slight leather undertone. The retro-hale burns my nose. The cigar is a medium body.

1st third.JPG
1st Third: The mint flavor quickly leaves the cigar and the flavors shift to a lovely cocoa and pepper. 1/2" down and the flavors shift to a very nice peppery leather and dried cherry. The burn line is pretty wonky but I'm not correcting it. After 1" the burn corrects itself. The flavors again transition to a very lovely cinnamon and slight nutmeg. There is very little pepper even on the retro-hale. It's smooth as can be.

2nd third.JPG
2nd Third: The dominant flavor is a very pleasant cinnamon with dried/charred cherries. There is no pepper to speak of which is surprising because it was so strong during the first inch.

last 3rd.JPG
Last Third: There have been no changes in the flavors since the 2nd third began except for the cherry flavor is almost gone. The cigar is just a cinnamon and nutmeg flavor.

Final Thoughts: I smoked this to the nub. It's the first cigar in many that I've smoked this far. There was very little nicotine buzz from this cigar. This cigar started out like a rocket and was on it's way to becoming a legend but fizzled into the 2nd third. That's not a bad thing because these flavors were right up my alley and it was extremely enjoyable but became almost boring and that's a bad thing to most. You don't ever want to "bore" your audience with your brilliance. I would smoke this cigar by the box.

Score: 94

Thank you mwlabel for providing this cigar. It was much appreciated.

Lastly, make sure your dog doesn't pee on the same bush everyday because this is what my wife's newly potted plant looks like after a week.

I've never had this one but I will definitely be looking for it and buying it. It was a great cigar. Thank you very much and this is why I love the blind review format. I'd have never even picked this up if I'd have seen it.
