  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I can't decide. Lancero type sizes are new to me. I like both cc brands in their other iterations. What are your opinions not "well depends on what you like" lol I know that already. Which would you cop or try first?

Edit: move this to habanos if possible/necessary. On tappatalk and did not click the right forum.

I like them both. The GM's need more downtime to me. If I was forced to pick, I'd choose the 898's without question.

898s and it's an easy decision for me. 898 every time.

The Maginificent Carnac holds an envelope with a question he's never seen before and will divine the answer through sheer mysticism.....

Carnac Answer: "Split both!"

And the Question is: "I can't make up my mind! What should I do?????"

898s, definitely. I had a box of Gold Medals I enjoyed, but they were nothing truly special IMHO.

Partagas should of been the first clue:) Both need a few years 3-4 to be enjoyable. I'm trying to lay off a 3 yo box as we speak. It's not easy......

neither are anywhere close to a lancero RG... But I have to go with the 898 since they are a classic!
What is a lancero rg
The best one out there... the Cohiba Lancero RG is 38 x 7.6". That is what I normally think of when I hear lancero.

And to answer your first question, 898 all day long. Overall I would choose Bolivar over Partagas if I had to choose, but the GM doesn't quite live up to the others IMO. The 898 is a classic that will probably taste good to you fresh since you are coming over from the NC world, but will only get better with age.

Echo 898 hands down. Personally hate GM's but doesnt mean you would. If you going for a Lancero the CoLa is the top choice. If you wish for something a tad bit larger than a Lancero then Fundy would be my choice

Another vote for 898's. Even though the Gold Medals already have 4+ years on them at this point they still are muted and harsh- to me. The Dalia size is a great cigar and one of my favorites- the LGC MDO no.2. and the 898 are two of my favorites- hands down...A well-rolled 898 with a little time on it (3-4 years, 5+ best) is one of the great pleasures of smoking that I think everyone should experience at some point. I Love 'em.
If the Lancero is what are you after- then I totally agree with the above- Cohibas with time on them are stunning. If you are going to search for them get the El Laguito factory if possible. I wouldn't want Cohibas rolled anywhere else. Good luck and I hope you get quality, no matter what you choose...

Here is a link for reviews and a very good resource for the marque's and the different sizes within them.
