  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

to start yes it was young but also it is a churchill and I find Habano churchills way mild. it was almost medium and not in the Bolivar flavor profile. I don't care for churchills anyway. it just teased and never came around. give me Royal Corona or Belicoso Finos.i'm glad I only got one. in one word Boring. it was sad to be Bolivar. A Bolivar should never be this mild. it confirmed with me to stay away from churchills. I'm a robusto guy typically and ever wonder why almost all the brands make them and never get rid of them from there production in the age of Habanos reducing the sizes they make. all my favorite Habanos come in robusto size like Partagas, Montecristo,Bolivar,Vegas Robaina,Hoyos,R&J,San Cristobal,Juan Lopez,Ramone Allones,H.Upmann,Cohiba. I would love to see Punch in a robusto. come on Habanos,do you really need to keep making more Monte and Cohiba sizes when other brands are being neglected and reduced. I blame it on Altadis with all the regional and limited edition mediocrity that are over priced. yea I know there are some good ones, but in general I pass. give me a Partagas,Monte or Bolivar because I find them consistent and able to smoke without aging for ever. sorry about the rant. Blessings !!!:cbig:

Thanks for your review. Though I have to completely disagree. The BCG is one of my favorites. Especially with some age. And I like the Churchill size.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I've had much better luck with the Boli CGs though. I haven't had any that fresh but the ones I had were very much Bolivar profile, very flavorful sticks! I'm a big fan of Bolivar and I also enjoy the BRCs and BBFs but when I've got time I'd probably reach for the BCGs over those. Actually one of the best smokes I've ever had was a BCG with 6+ years on it. I wouldn't write them off just yet especially if you enjoy the BRC and BBF. Was this the only one you smoked out of the batch? Could have been a bum stick or maybe the 2013's aren't up to par :dunno:

If you stay away from Churchills just because, then you are really missing out on a lot of good sticks man. Esplendidos. Sir Winston. RyJ Churchill. Imperiales. Just saying man. Don't give up on them.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 2 because, you know, I love Tapatalk 2.

The Esplendido is anything but mild, and the Sir Winston is a... wait for it... Winner! Neither is mild or boring.

I love the RC, it's one of my favorites, and I smoke the PCs often when I want a small stick. I have yet to try a Boli CG, but ironically, based on everyone else's input, but now I really want to!

Depends on your regular rotation. If you are used to all the super Nicas and ligero bombs that are common today, you will seldom find a cuban to describe as full bodied. When I gave up NCs I really rediscovered the cuban essence, and now most of the non cubans I try are too heavy and over stuffed. There are exceptions, but very few...........

I'm having a R y J Romeo no.2 petit corona and it is solid on point and what it should be. It is medium ,flavorful and only from Oct.2012.they got this one right. Beautiful balance.

Boli CG's have been consistently great for me...03 DB, 06 cab, 07 cab, 10 DB, 12 DB. I would not say I've had a mild one. Usually nicely full bodied.
