  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

If you had the option of getting a box from TEB Jun 08 or LRE Ene 10 which would you take?

I know the recent batch from LRE have been good, but 2 free years of age is also nice.

Thoughts?

I've had good luck with TEB in general, but I'm not very experienced so take that for what it's worth. I'd go for the older one if it were me, especially if the price is good. These are delicious!

I have a couple TEB boxes (RASS/BGM) and a LRE BBF box. All are great just wanted to see if anyone had experience with '10 smokes.

I'm leaning towards the TEB as of now.

I have a box from LRE Sep 09 that is smoking really well right now. Not the same, I know, but the LRE box code is all good.

Kind of on topic... does anyone know if anyone has figured out the factory codes as they exist currently, yet? I have seen dozens of charts for previous codes, but the current system seems to be elusive...

'08 was a good year for the BRCs, I am not sure (haven't tried) '10s yet, so I would go with the sure thing.

I have a box of the 08', had a few sticks and bought another box. It is smoking quite well IMO.

A little off topic...what does TEB and LRE and all those other codes before the date stand for? If this has been discussed already, I apologize.

Thanks...Is one factory more reputable than another? Do these really impact someone buying a particular cigar?
I know next to nothing about this other than what others say, but I do know that YES absolutely the code effects what people buy. You'll often hear people saying, "Have had a dozen amazing such-and-suches from the same box, I'm stocking up on this box code." When it comes to factory, some people prefer certain factories because they've had better experience with them.

Opinions vary, but some factories are better run than others, like the Partagas factory, or Cohiba. Thing is They make more than those marques in said factories. But yeah, I feel in general, it's true. It's also true in Cuba anything can happen. They just had a bit of a shakeup in management of at least one factory so who knows. If you find good cigars with a certain factory try to keep buying out of that one.
