  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I do think the games are pretty good match up overall.

One thing to keep in mind is the schools do not have a say in where they go, it is the Bowls themselves that make the call. I think the better match up would be;
Bama vs Cincy

Texas vs TCU

Floridia vs Boise

This is just my opinion Cincy has beten more rancked teams than Texas this year but untill we have a play off then there is just more to bark about.

I understand that being from Texas you are forced to root for texas in anything, but saying they had a tough schedule this year is a little bit of a stretch. out of all the teams they played- Louisiana Monroe (6-6), Wyoming (6-6), Texas Tech (8-4), Utep (4-8), Colorado (3-9), #20 Oklahoma (7-5), Missouri (8-4), Oklahoma State (9-3), Ucf (8-4), Baylor (4-8), Kansas (5-7), Texas A&M (6-6), #21 Nebraska (9-4)- only 6 teams had an over .500 season. Is Texas going to bring in more people? Yes, but they didnt get the bowl based on the toughness of their schedule.
TCU is from Texas as well... Who did either BS or TCU play? Boise had Oregon, but who else? Some of the other schools may well have had over .500 but they played a bunch of crap teams.

Plus, Texas played no FCS teams. I don't care what FBS team plays them, they should win against an FCS team. That is a gimme game. Cincy, Boise, and TCU all played at least one FCS team. I'm not a Texas or Big 12 fan. The BCS got the Championship Game right this year. That's just my opinion anyway.

In all honesty I dont care if BS or TCU play in the national championship, I was merely trying to say that your previous statement of strenght of schedule was not a factor for this years choice of the national championship game. Personaly I feel that if a team is not part of the BCS community, then they should not be playing in BCS games.
