So here are the results of this past year of smoking great cigars. The BOTL brothers have spoken and I have tallied the results. It was a daunting task.

I scored all choices with 5 points for a first choice down to 1 point for the 5th choice. If the person submitting did not rank the cigar but only gave me their 5 best then I gave each one 2 points. There were over 230 entries by almost 50 brothers.

And the Number One Cigar of the Year is .........

So you can see that the top 5 choices didn't get a whole lot of people voting for them. There were tons of choices that were one-offs. There are just too many good cigars out there and too many differing opinions, but that's what makes it interesting.
The biggest surprise for me was something I saw shortly after the voting started. The Rose of Sharon was a cigar and a brand I had never heard of. I recently bought a 5 pack but haven't tried one yet. I'm excited to give it a go.

My guess is that most of the nominations that only got a vote or 2 are better than most of what made CA's bullshit list.
