  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

That's not a bad price, but don't forget that it's going to be another $15 - $20 for the shipping.

I've eaten food that was cooked with chunks from bourbon barrels before and couldn't tell a considerable difference to justify the cost.

I smoke foods all the time, but hardly ever use oak. I prefer hickory, apple, and pecan for just about everything.

Have you ever tried grape vine wood for fowl? It's too subtle to use with red meat or pork, but for chicken or white fish it's really nice.

I've dried the Jack wood chips as well, like the rest, didn't notice a difference. I'll keep the jack in the cook from now now. I also like apple wood for most of my BBQ.
