Anyone able to work out the math on how many 320gr bovedas would be needed for a 74qt container?

I found someone's calculations through a Google search, but it came out to needing ten which seems pretty extreme.

Someone on one of the forums mentioned only needing 2 for a roughly 50qt container.

74qt is about 70 liter. Converting from what I use in my 5L containers and Boveda's claim that one 320 is equal to 5 of the 60 packs, I would say seven of the 320 should be about right. Maybe go with eight for insurance.

It has 1lb of heartfelt beads that are almost completely dry and it wasn't bringing the rh down like it should.

It has been steady at 65% for 2 weeks, even when the a/c went out before, but this morning was 75% even though the room rh was only 65%, so I'm not really trusting them at all and am considering switching to bovedas as they have always worked perfectly for me

I’m running a 74 quart iris container. I have 2 of the 320s and a few of the next smaller size. All my little packs I get with shipping get tossed in but if all I had was the 320s I’d put 3 in. Filled with cigars and “burped “ a few times it should level out. Mine is overflowing and it’s always dead on the number.

I have a 20 quart Sterlite gasket top container with 3 x 60 gram packs and it stays rock solid. Interpolating to your container which is a little more than 3.5 times the size, 2 x 320 gram packs should be more than enough.

Yeah, general consensus seems to be 2 or maybe 3 320gr should be plenty, especially as I slowly get it filled.

Right now have the heartfelt beads and 4, 60gr bovedas and its rock solid at 65% since the single day spike that prompted this thread.

Figure 2, 320gr with the 4, 60gr bovedas is what I will start with and see how it goes.

Will likely leave the beads in still as it should only help, not hurt anything.
