I've wanted to try Brandy for a while, so I picked up a bottle of E&J VSOP Brandy today. Selection was limited, so I picked up the most expensive 750ml bottle at the local grocer - $16. Blended and bottled in Modesto, CA. I don't know if E&J also distills and ages this. The bottle doesn't say.
80 proof, sweet, alcohol burn on the nose. I pick up vanilla big time, maple. I have nothing to compare this to, but my first impression is positive. I think this would pair well with sweeter cigars.
Any recommendations for Brandy brands or pairings?
