  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Dropped it yesterday and the fluid leaked out as it was laying on the floor. Tried filling it again tonight and it won't hold any fluid.

It's a Colibri, anyone know how the warranty is on them?

I won it on CBid a year or 2 ago for $10 bucks. Don't know if I should get it fixed or just buy a new one.

I just got a Xikar single flame from Cbid for $7

If the lighter has sentimental value, get it fixed. Of it doesn't them see if you can get another one

Personally for $10 and like rdomfoto said, if it doesnt have sentimental value, I'd toss it. If it holds butane and lights my cigars, its a winner in my book.

I think that their warranty is only 1 year so at $10 I would cut my losses and get something new.

Unfortunately colibris do not have the best reputation for longevity. I also have a couple that did not hold up. About a year ago I that bought a couple of Bugattis off of c-bid in the $12 -$15 range and have been very happy with them and have been.

If you don't need something fancy, I would just watch C-Bid. I've had very good luck with Jetline Lighters, and they're incredibly cheap.

The past Colibri lighters I've had have all broken.

Like alot of people have said, xikar makes a good lighter and they're warranty is fantastic. Also the Dupont maxijet is great but the best lighter you can get for the price and reliability is just a djeep soft flame lighter lol. Unless you want a torch

XIKAR by far for lifetime no proof of purchase warranty. I DO NOT GET FREE lighters from manufactures for reviews! This is my opinion, not influenced.

Dropped my Xikar of a chairlift 3 years ago and never got around to sending it back. Then when I picked up cigar smoking I took it into my B&M they pulled one out of the case and changed it out. Never buy anything else after that warranty.

Exactly. This has been my experience as well.
