Just saw a facebook post a few hours ago that Steven Books, master blender and owner of House of Calabash has passed away. His daughter Eva, who I believe took over the reins of the shop and tobacco blending for her dad, shared a post on the house of calabash facebook page. He lost a very long battle with advanced prostate cancer. She said that she'll need some time to be with her family before she gets back into the swing of things.
Although he's passed on, it'll be nice to see that she'll continue to create his tobacco blends and keep his memory alive.
