Some of you may remember that I posted a survey a few months back asking how much money you spent on cigars, how many cigars you bought and how many cigars you smoked over the previous 12 months.

I've compiled the results and the numbers are:

  • 112 submissions
  • $2,083 was the average budget
  • 273 was the average number of cigars purchased
  • 203 was the average number of cigars smoked
What we did with this is, combine the purchased/smoked number to create a number of 238 cigars and then use the budget number to create a fantasy shopping spree of cigars that were released in 2017. We think it's an interesting exercise and wanted to share.

Tonight, we will be doing a 2017 recap show at 6PM Pacific/9PM Eastern with Will from Cigar-Coop, Craig from CigarCraig, Eric from Cigar Dojo and Charlie from halfwheel to talk about the 2017 cigar year and to look ahead at 2018.

We also had these guys perform the same exercise with the shopping spree using all the same criteria. It's pretty interesting seeing what everyone chose as this isn't easy to reach the target number of cigars and keeping the budget number in line.

If you want to catch the show live, you can watch it in the link below or through the Developing Palates YouTube page or you can catch it in both places after it's been recorded plus as a podcast. Their shopping spree lists are available now on this page.

Let me know what you guys think of the survey results, the shopping spree concept and if any of you guys want to take a shot at coming up with a list.
