  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

About 2 weeks ago I received a shipment from LO . I didn't start using it until now and discovered 4-5 living larva's. Fortunately no bugs were formed.
I suspect there were eggs in the tobacco and because of the humidity and temperature here they developed.
This is the second time with a shipment from LO.

I have experienced bugs on a couple occasions. Both times were leaf that was gifted to me so I am unsure of the origin. Sticking the leaf in the freezer for 5-7 days when it comes in is sound insurance to avoid an outbreak. The beetles are just part of the leaf, they attach themselves to the plant as it grows so I wouldn't necessarily place fault on the vendor. Much of that is out of their control and they probably don't have the means to freeze all the leaf as it comes in to them.
