So I am looking to change to a burr grinder. I use a french press and the blade grinder I use is very inconsistent. I want a good one, but not one that cost so much I will need a divorce lawyer too. Checked out a couple models, links below, wondering if anyone has used these or know more about them. Thanks.

Get a Capresso Infinity & thank me later. It'll do everything BUT espresso. I have one at work & I use it everyday. Great deal for $90.00/shipped too.

B B & B had that one too, just didn't list it. Think that is the way I'll go, I trust your advice.... and since I don't have a $10,000 espresso machine I won't need the espresso setting hahaha

You'll be happy with it, Curtis. I've had mine for 3+ years without as much as a hiccup. Lots of grind settings to get your brew "dialed in" too.

I've had the CuisinArt for 6 months now and it works great...can't attest to the Capresso Infinity but I've used the brand before and like the CuisinArt better...JMO. A burr grinder does make a huge difference in the quality of a FP coffee and the grounds are great enough for FP as well as espresso....the settings are almost perfect for what it is you want.

CuisinArt here.....2nd one for us, 1st one quit after 18 months. Sent in to them with a note just asking what caused it to "just stop working"? included my e-mail for a response. All I wanted to know was why it stopped. 2 weeks later, Fed Express truck shows up with a brand new one. Great Customer service and a great grinder...

Haha. I think you'll like it, man. For French Press, start out on the coarsest setting & adjust from there. Don't forget to register it too as they have good warranty/replacement part service as well. Let us know how you make out!

I have a Bodum Antigua that I bought back in 2007 off the Black Dog website. I got it for like $70 at the time but now it looks like a discontinued model (probably lasted too long). So it makes me wonder if its as good. I've done dumb things to the grinder like made ground cinnamon when I was out of ground cinnamon. That worked like a charm for a bit then I got some stuck and siezed up the grinder. Took the burr apart and bam it was back to normal. AWESOME grinder. However it will wake up the dead while its running. My mom has the same model and her's is a bit quieter. Mine's always been loud though. I'm sure there are better ones out there but this is all I've had and it gets used everyday and has since I bought the grinder.

Bodum makes quality products. The Antigua is a good grinder too. Lots of guys I know love them & have used them forever. If you switch out the burr set once it's worn out, it'll prolly last forever.
