  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Just curious what butane is being used out there? I have been using Jetline, which is filtered 5x. In the last two years I have not had one lighter fail, and i have about 6 lighters that I cycle through. I'm getting ready to purchase more fuel. It has taken a couple years to use up a lg. can of butane. What are you guys using and how do you like it?

I forget what I use, I want to guess Blazer?? I've used Colibri in the past and had bad experience with it. I usually go with whatever the local B&M's are selling and using since it'll probably cost more to ship than the cans of fuel.

same.....cbid / amazon
The last couple of times I have used cbid. If you are patient you can usually get a 13 oz can of good fluid for under 5 bucks. Of course there is a 6 dollar shipping charge so you have to go with two cans or buy yard gars or something to defray the cost.

Yep, they get me too. Especially the first 6 months after I found the site. I actually think they get more out of me with the shipping fee. I'm always buying just that one more thing trying to defray that shipping charge.

I'll probably get all sorts of crap over this but I use cheap old Zippo butane in the 3 lighters that I rotate through. I never bleed em either anymore. Just add more when they get low or run out. Been doing this for 2+ years and have never had an issue.

I've been doing the same with Jetline fuel Rupe. Just reload when low and no maintenance. And most of my lighters are under 10 bucks.

Fast Fill is $7.99 and I think Xikar's shit is $8.99, I bought lighter fluid online once. It was a bad decision, but it's okay, I learned from that mistake. :cyclops:

I use Xikar in my 3 lighters that I use and don't have a problem. Only one lighter is Xikar and when I used a cheap brand at my friends house in it I had bad results. Took about 3 fills of the Xikar fluid running through it to get it to work right again. It's been so long since I've purchased any I can't remember what the big can cost at my local B&M.

I had problems with the stuff I got at hardware store, King I think it was. Ronson was in use when my colibri died. Using Vector now, haven't had a problem. Was $15 free shipping with Amazon prime

Edit: that's $15 for a 2 pack of butane.
