  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Buying a new Humidor. Recommend some please.

Ok, I currently only have a 30 count humidor and I want something a little bigger. I am looking for a desktop model that holds between 120-150 cigars and cost less than 150$. Thank you in advance for taking the time to recommend some for me.

Spend $6 at Walmart on a Sterelite tupperware bin. It will work great, cost next to nothing, and give you plenty of room to grow into :) A few empty cigar boxes to put your sticks in and some humidification and you'll be good to go!

If you just really want a nice wood humidor for display purposes (in your office or something) than sobeit. But honestly, as many of us know from experience, tupperware/plastic bins/coolers work just as well if not BETTER and that leaves you with $150 to spend on cigars to christen it :)

Yes, I already have a desktop humidor that only holds about 30 sticks. I am looking for something that is going to sit out in my living room so I would like it to look nice. I plan on using my current desktop as a dry box. One more question. Why does my local B&M tell me not to purchase a humidor with a glass in it, yet they are storing some of their cigars in humidors almost made of all glass.

In regards to glass topped humidors. They can be prone to leaks around the glass, and any direct sunlight or lamp light will cause a green house heating effect and can be bad. I have the Montecristo Afrique glass top humidor and don't have anyisses with it.

As Dprice said about leaks. However at your B&M they have active humidifiers too, as long as they keep the reseviors full they won't run into problems. Also the sticks, ideally, won't stay on the shelves long and shouldn't be in direct sunlight.

I recommend a Savoy humidor. They look great work great and their customer service is outstanding. I have bought mine through holts.com. Sometimes they have closeout deals that are unbelievable.
