  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Couldn't find a thread for this... anyone going? Any ideas what vendors will be represented? I know CA says 25+ manufacturers...

My father is a long time CA subscriber, and since I've gotten into cigars over the last year, he asked if I wanted to go this year... WOW! So, it seems that I will likely be there.

I went every year with my son for a number of years. Lately the cost is so high for what you get, I have been passing. Lots of mfgrs. Usually get from 20 to 30 sticks from many well known and many obscure rollers. It is fun to meet the powers behind the cigars; Fuenetes, Padrons, Ozgeners etc. I figured at $275 I could buy a very nice box of sticks, maybe two but I miss the fun. 8,000 guys all trying to grab cigars at once. Food and beverages were excellent but big lines for food.

I agree with Chuck. JUst not worth the cost to attend, unless you want to look at Luxory watches, Jet Companies and some mediocre sticks. I know there are some great manufacturers that will be there, but not worth it anyways.

But for $275, I could go to Casa Fuente, enjoy some great cigars and tangerine mojitos.. lol A whole lot of them.

The Big Smoke in Vegas is becoming an annual event for a bunch of us at the local smoke shop. But, we won't be going to the event. It's just an excuse to go to Vegas! The owner goes to the Big Smoke, and we all go to Casa. We'll be there Thursday through Sunday.

I thought about going last year and skipping the show. Each person that comes but doesnt go to the show brings a box of sticks that they bought instead and we all swap. Think about it.

I like that Chuck. I'm not going to be going, but I like the idea. I am going on a buying freeze and a travel savings plan. Hoping to make it to NYC for a vaca next year.

Lots of low cost hotels. My son and I stayed at the Orleans one year and it was like $50 each per night. Easy to get around and we could probably get a carpool going from SoCal. Food is what you want to pay. Can be as expensive or as cheap as you wish.

Yes I am also deciding if I am going to head out to Vegas this year. If I go I will just be going for the parties. Not going to attend the Big Smoke this year. Did that last year.
