Monday was your typical Monday and nothing sounded better than to kick back on the deck with a nice cigar. Rummaged through the humidor and decided on this beauty.
The Tatuaje Cabaiguan is a 5 1/4 x 50 Nicaraguan puro sporting a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The slightly toothy wrapper is a nice chocolate mottled in places with a lighter brown color. There are a few veins present and a small piece missing from the wrapper on the foot. The aroma coming off the cigar is a nice slightly sweet/earthy tobacco.
Clipped the triple cap and couldn't have asked for a better draw. Cold draw flavors of light earthy tobacco and some spice. The food toasted right up.
At first the burn was a little rugged due to the damaged spot on the foot, but things quickly smoothed out. The initial flavors were a light spice and some earthiness, but soon became more intense. Smoke output was great.
The burn is sharp. The flavors are great...an earthy, slightly leathery concoction with a spice on the finish and floral notes through the nose. Ash is a nice light gray and holding strong.
Really diggin' this cigar .
All in all, I very much enjoyed this cigar. The flavors weren't complex, but sometimes you don't need a complex bouquet of flavors and this was one of those times. Another home run from Pete .
