  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Smoked this one on the road.

Size: 6x46
Shape: Parejo
Wrapper Color: Natural Tan
Origin: Nicaragua
Price: $5-$6

Construction: Nice construction, cap neat, plump pack - not tight, nice smooth natural tan Habano leaf wrapper, filled with a blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos including ligero from the Jalapa Valley, band is found at the foot and shows some sloppy printing/cutting where some of the words are cut off (not a big deal since I am not smoking the band)

Light: mild, cool, Smooth, grassy, hay

Foot: mild, cool, continued hay and introducing some subtle sweet tobacco flavors, straight burn, light gray ash, good smoke output, draw is good and not too loose, finish is short

Body: mild-medium, cool, same as at the foot, a little oaky - tastes young or fresh off the field similar to other Oliva lines such as Serie O and at the same price, straight burn, light gray ash, finish is short

Head: medium body, hot, a little spice and cedar, still holds the grassy hay flavor

Conclusion: This cigar offers pretty much a similar profile as that of a Oliva Serie O if not milder. The attempt to create a blend that features more flavorful ligero fillers with a milder habano wrapper is somewhat successful. I felt it still needed a little more flavor. This is a well constructed and consistent cigar. Lacks complexity and flavor transitions. This should make a good middle road budget buy. I would smoke this again. I enjoyed it.
