  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I finally got around to trying the Cain F. I have been a little worried about all the claims that this is a full bodied and full flavored smoke (which it is) and I wanted to make sure I was in the right mood before lighting one up.

The initial flavors are strong leather and cedar with a huge blast of black pepper through the nose. The spice borders on harsh through the nose, and I am not able to distinguish many other flavors. The flavors slowly come down a notch after the first 2 inches but is still full maybe med/full. At the half way mark I am starting to pick up notes of coffee and liquorice with a taste of roasted notes on the finish. As I was nearing the final third of the cigar I was expecting the flavor to jump back up to full throttle but it stayed med/full with just a bit of the spice creeping back into the mix.

The burn was very good with a dark gray and slightly brown colored ash. There was a slight bit of tunneling half way through but a quick touchup on the wrapper cured it.

Believe this is the second release of this cigar (band on the foot)

Cigar had a few veins but well constructed and good burn. Very dark ash (you can not see the brown tint in the photo)

Overall this was a good smoke. The initial pepper blast and leather overpowers the other flavors in the first third, but mellow out nicely to let the other flavors shine. This was not a complex smoke but I did enjoy the profile after the initial punch to the gut. I am willing to bet that these will be great after a long nap in the humi to allow some of the initial kick to settle down.

Nice review!

I'm only had 2, but really liked both. When do these get a full release? I might pick up a box of the smallest size.

Thanks for the review, I finally got a hold of one of these (thanks Jere!) I can't wait to try it. I love a full flavor stick, and these sound like a power house

Very nice review Jason, thanks!

Nate, Sam starts the Cain F Tour in March, so the regularline will be than. It will be available in three sizes: 5x50, 6x52 & 6x54 torpedo. There will also be a Cain F Nub!

Sweet! Will the NUB be a regular thing or an event-only smoke?

Thanks for the review brother! Haven't been able to get my hands on any of these, but they look like quite a hearty smoke that's for sure! I like the color and texture of the wrapper, reminds me of well-cured leather.

Thanks for the review. I have had all the other Cain blends and plan on trying the new F when I get back.

Did you get a strong buzz/feel bad from it or just a normal full body cigar smoke feeling?

Great review.

Once these are readily available I intend on trying this powerful cigar; especially the Nub version.

Good review. I did not get the big kick you did. More a flavor blast. I really like this cigar.

Nice review Jason. My experience so far as well, good smoke but somewhat one dimensional as they say. Hoping a long rest will make a difference on the rest.
