Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Every Camacho and NC Romeo Y Julieta I have tried have been horrible. Any ideas on what would be considered a good offering from either with a little description?

Any help would be appreciated, :help:
Thanks
Ryan

I don't think you're doing anything wrong; I just think those particular brands don't make cigars that match up to your flavor preference.

Keep experimenting. There are like 10,000 different cigars on the market, and you're bound to dislike a huge percentage of them.

My first thought when reading your post is you may be smoking to fast. I've noticed that a couple of Camacho's that I've had got kind of harsh the faster I smoked them. Try slowing down, way down and see if that helps.

Like the sheeper said. Try something different, might not be your flavor.

Stop buying them. There is a ton of really good stuff out in the price range you are currently spending. Try some funte stuff, maybe some DPGs or tats. Explore!

Habana reserve (brown label) is good. I have had a lot better than any NC RyJ. Padrons are much better for less $ !!! (My opinion.)

I acctually suggested the Habana Reserve in you other, Creamy, thread Ryan. only about $85 a box for the toros, and they the best NC RyJ i've had. I do still like alot of other stuff better.

No sir. What is it like? Expensive?

The R&J Viejo is pretty cheap and very different than the other R&Js:
http://www.cigarsinternational.com/prodDisp.asp?item=CS-URA

They also come up on Cigarbid.com regularly. Grab a 5er and see what you think.

It might help us give advice, though, to know WHY you think you don't like those other smokes, if you know yourself.

If you just want things that are way different than the R&J, here are 3 of my faves, with different flavor profiles:
1) CAO Black
2) Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 or 1992
3) 5 Vegas Classic (and 5 Vegas Gold...actually, anything by 5 Vegas is good, lol)

All of these are medium body and can be had for $15-$20 for a 5-pack (less for the 5 Vegas) on Cigarbid.com.

5 Vegas is probably the best "cheap cigar" deal in the entire industry. Seriously, try them all. Cigarbid puts up samplers of their stuff all the time and I usually score them for less than $2/stick. I'm not trying to sell you on these or anything, but if you happen to find a really cheap cigar that you really like--LIFE IS GOOD!!!
