Sorry i have been down for the past few weeks with a bad cold and i just didnt think that it would be fair to you if i did reviews with out the ability to taste ( funny i dont mind the fact that i cant spell as unfair for you ).
so i met the rep for Camaco on monday and he was kind enuff to hook me up with a few sticks the one i will be reviewing is the diploma there top self so to speak cigar, aslo the owners of camaco fav stick i was told.
just a great looking stick the band is tasteful and matched the color of the wrapper very well (if was ment to good job). It is smooth with a soft finish on it not oily but not dull.
Pre cut: It smells grassy and musty forest (right after the leaves fall)
Cut: After the first cut the smell stays the same but is a little more grass then musty. The taste on the lips is of fermented hay. Hay that has been left in the bake of the barn a year or so. great sweet taste just a little off. There is no spice or tingle on the lips or tounge.
First light: After toasting the end the smell is of burned hard wood sweet and aromatic. From the first light the smoke was full and abundant.
Rich flavors from the start black walnut sweet and sharp, a light spice in the back of the nose like when you eat a mole'.
1/3: This cigar is so full of Flavor but retains its mellowness. it Feels like it wants to jump into the full body world but cant shake the medium body mellowness. I am getting tastes of toasted wheet bread smooth and buttery on the reto exhale. the smoke covers the mouth like a well worn blanket. the burn is a little un even but will manage itself.
The ash is light in color and seems to be holding well, the burn is cool to the mouth. I am just blown away at how mush flavor has been packed int to such a small cigar (to me).
2/3: So mant flavors keep coming to light then slipping back into the shadows as a new one steps up to lay clame to a chunk of my happy pallet.
A hit of dark chocolate mixed with tabaco dominate the midle of this smoke.
The smoke itself coats the mouth like double cream.
the flavors are starting to even outand mellow back down. There is a sublime hard wood smoke flavor that makes me keep swirl the smoke around in my mouth and takes me back to good times down by the river with my cusin Adam. (insert witty down by the river in a van joke here lol)
3/3:
I have never enjoyed a medium bodied cigar this much. I love the way the flavors of the smoke change the longer you hold it in your mouth. There is a smooth flavor that i just cant identify, its like eating a hot muffen the flavor is there and its amazing you just dont know what it is yet but you just keep eating. the draw on the tip of the tounge is sweet and reminds me of unrefined sugar lie a molassas, htick and sweet and a little burnt. the burn remains very even.
The last inch: I am in love with this cigar. The deep complexity of the flavors, the smooth finish on the back of the mouth. the ash has changed color to a dark grey and along with it the flavor has evened up in a smooth mocha flavor. This stick is finishing so amazing i hope you all get a chance to smoke this stick. give your self some time to really enjoy it, i am going to smoke it tell i cant hold it anymore.
This will be one that i will buy. enjoy and happy smoking.
