I'm in the market for a decent camera as a Christmas present for my 12 year old daughter. I don't want to spend a small fortune due to the fact that it'll probably at some point be dropped or lost. Hence letting you photography buffs know that it's for my 12 year old... She wants some $500 camera that has wi-fi sending features etc. I was thinking more along the lines of the Nikon P520. I've found them for around $260-300. Any help here would be great. I don't really want to spend more than $300 if I can get away with it.

Since it's for a 12 year old, I would suggest a point and shoot and an eye-fi card. Eye-Fi cards are memory cards that have a wi-fi chip built in and can send her prictures directly to her phone and/or upload them to her social media. You can get a 16gb eye-fi online for under $40. As far as a camera goes, the Sony H200 will be more than enough at her age and won't break the bank at $129.99 on Sony's website. Normal retail on those are about $250 or so.
