  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I lit this bad boy up on way to my Fathers house today. I got to say that the cigar looks great. With the barber pole wrapper. But that was about the end of it. I lit up the cigar, and immediatly I had a nasty run problem, I mean Bam 2 minutes into the cigar and I have a 1 inch run in the side of the cigar. To make matters worse, there was absolutly no flavor to the cigar for the first 10 minutes. So hense to say after fighting with the burn problem I worked the cigar down to about half way. I know being that this cigar is a 6 X 60 it would take some time to build up flavor, but the cigar didn't actually have any good flavor until about the last third of the cigar. I have to say I was really dissapointed in this NEW CAO offering. Maybe I might try a couple of the smaller versions, but for the Landmark, Not for me. How you guys have better luck with this stick than I did. :wtf:

Thanks for reading.

I had the Potomac, and I was not too happy with it. Too big of a cigar for me. However I do like most of CAO's line.

I have yet to find a CAO that smoked good and made me want another one. This is just another attempt at marketing in my opinion, and CAO is the king of marketing. jmho But, it doesnt mean that I wont keep trying them. Hell, everyone gets lucky at least once. hehe

I really enjoy the Brazilia and the Italia line, so I was hoping that the American would be a nice smoke.

I have a Monument that a brother here gifted to me recently...I'll let you know how it goes when I try it.

I have one I picked up last week. It looks nice. Maybe I'll fire it up this weekend.

My opinion of CAO is if you like the flavor profile of the first inch of one of their cigars, you'll like the whole thing. They are really one-dimensional. I get robustos of the Brazillia and Italias.

I had one and thought it was decent. Nothing to rave about and over-priced, but if someone gave me one, I'd smoke it rather than re-gift it.

I have to say, I love the MX2 and the CX2 aren't bad, way to pricey for an average Cameroon cigar. The Sopranos are great, as well as Italia, Extreme, and as alway Criollo's rock. But they are all over priced. At one time I heard they were going to look at bringing out a MX3 wich would have been a good cigar.

You are not alone, I also had a Landmark over Thanksgiving, and felt similarly. Not full bodied as some rumors stated, and really not even full flavored. I must say I was dissapointed. I will give it another try though.

Yea the CAO's I have gotten so far have all been on deals that I have found with freebies to make it worht it. But I still do like the line for the most part.

Smoked one of these tonight, wasn't impressed with it. Kind of bland for my taste. After smoking some pepins and tats lately, the America just didn't do it for me.
