  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I don't know about that humi, but I DO know that if there's too much airflow to be steady humidity you can fix that after the fact...I would personally go for it. That amount of storage for that price is pretty damn good and it's pretty good looking too.

Devils advocate though you could buy a winodor for that also and many of the ppl hear swear by them.

Never seen that particular humidor before...

but.. if it were local to me... I'd run over there and see what kind of deal I could make on it pronto (looks great, seems to be priced well, etc..)...

and I dont even need a humi :)

i use a cabinet myself. a little more tricky to regulate than a wineador but i love how spacious it is and i dig it a lot. i say for that price, you can't go wrong.

Thanks guys, going to pick it up tomorrow. Will post pics when I get it home. A couple more questions I have a case of the Boveda Humidipak 62's that I could toss some in there for now since the humi is seasoned or I can go with Heartfelt Beads. So here's the questions:

Should I stay with Boveda or go with beads and why?
Can someone point me to the Heartfelt Beads primer post?
Are there other alternatives that anyone would recommend?

Thanks for the knowledge.

This is what I read up on before making my initial Heartfelt purchase: http://www.botl.org/threads/heartfelt-beads-frequently-asked-questions.1663/

But after that first purchase, I've gone with a combo of a few Boveda + containers of kitty litter and haven't looked back. I'm sure other brothers here can give you more info but once you train/calibrate the kitty litter, it has worked just as well as the heartfelts at a fraction of the price

So as to not make a fool of myself... Does anyone have pics of a humi with mold problems or tell tale signs thereof
If there any spots or areas of discoloration on the wood (black, blue, or green is most common), be cautious. If there is only little bit of mold, negotiate a lower price for the cabinet because there are pretty easy ways of clearing that up. If the mold is extensive, pass on the unit.

Thanks Guys now one more off-topic comment. I keep seeing all these donor stickers and I want to contribute. This site has been a real find to me and I want to help support it.
What gives?

All I see is empty shelves....

And the humidor looks fantastic!!! Glad to see you picked it up. I'm assuming there was no mold or anything in your findings when you went to pick up???
