  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Let’s call this – a blast from the past. La Traviata came and went, and now sits under a ‘different’ banner. Nevertheless, it is one of those cigars that many folks will continue to go back to in order to appreciate its flavor, construction, and last but definitely not least, the price ! La Traviata created a lot of buzz on Twitter / cigar blogs at the end of 2009 because of its success and lack of inclusion in Cigar Aficionado’s 2009 ratings. I have smoked: Divino (5″x50), Radiante (6″x52), Favorito (5.5″x52) and my favorite – Animado (5 5/8″x46). From flavor perspective, personally, I was able to extract the following: spice at the very beginning, roasted nuts, wood, leather. All of that and more for about ~$5.50!

Very nice! CAO IMO makes one of the best smokes for the money. Great flavor profile (especially the Brazilia, MX2) and it is always on my go to list for a quality smoke.

I agree 100%, definitely one of the best smokes for the price range. This has been my go-to cigar for some time now and I am going to be enjoying them while I can still get my hands on them. Going to be interesting to see the direction that CAO will be taken.

Did I miss something? Has the La Traviata been discontinued?
Definitely not. I'm not sure what the first sentence in this write-up is referring to, probably the fact that "La Traviata" was once a Cuban marca back in the day (like La Riqueza, etc).

I agree the the corona gorda is the most flavorful size. An awesome cigar at an awesome value!

For those who want a slightly spicier version, try to hunt down the old CAO Vision. The La Traviata was CAOs attempt to make a cheaper version of the Vision (the Vision tastes a lot like the La Aurora 100 Anos ... and was made in the same factory using similar tobacco).

Sorry, I wasn't implying that La Traviata has been discontinued. "Blast From The Past" statement was to illustrate how many cigars were announced since La Traviata. It almost looks / sounds like La Traviata is in a distant past. As per CAO, there is no plan to change the blend so we should be able to enjoy this fine piece of art.

Nice pic's my brother and the Animado is still my go-to size! :cbig:
Thanks, Larry ! Much appreciated brother !

For me, this is the best cigar in the CAO stable. Great photo's Jay. And, no, General is NOT discontinuing any CAO cigars nor changing blends.
Yes. And thanks, Ben ! Much appreciated.

Thank you all for great comments.

Your local B&M should have it. If not, a lot of online stores sell it. Google should return something close to your humidor. Good luck and enjoy !

I never really buy from B&M's up here in Canada. I can't afford the 280% markup.

Guess I'll shop around online.
