  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

All is know is that the CAO advert e-mail I just got says that they will be previewing the new Lx2 in the next month or so in select cities.

Here's my question:

Cx2 means there are 2 Cammy wrappers
Mx2 means there are 2 Maddy wrappers
Lx2 means....what exactly?

I don't belive it is going to be a double ligero like in the sense of LFD. I think it will be a much more smoker friendly version. I think it might be good, but I'm sure it will not be out very soon. Then when they do they will cost as much as the visions. And in that case I will never try one.

Yea I do hope it is not another Vision!

I do like a lot of CAO stuff but the Vision was shit!

I found this;

CAO Lx2 (“Ligero-times-two”) is a full-bodied, full-flavored cigar named for the priming of the tobacco plant which produces a leaf that is dark, strong, and spicy. CAO Lx2 combines a Nicaraguan wrapper with a Honduran binder, and incorporates two different ligero filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. “The inspiration for Lx2 came from a small growing field in Nicaragua called Pueblo Nuevo,” said CAO President Tim Ozgener. “Pueblo Nuevo is a 140-acre farm outside of Condega (Nicaragua) where tobacco is grown exclusively for CAO and Toraño brands. We found that tobacco from this particular farm yields an abundance of strength while retaining a nice, earthy sweetness. The taste profile played perfectly into what we were looking for with the Lx2 concept.”

I'm turning green just thinking of all that Ligero.

I will try one when I find it because i have always liked CAO even though the last few have disappointed. Cant imagine they could hold a candle to LFD double ligero.

Sounds like they're going for a spicy motif...maybe a VSG-type stick? I think CAO should send us each one to try

I got this email yesterday. My friend, Brian McGee aka Bigfoot, is the regional rep for CAO and you'll never meet a more informed and knowledgeable person on cigar and tobacco blends. He's also the funniest person I ever met!

To everyone in Texas, I will be doing 3 CAO Rock and Rolled events in Texas. Two in DFW and one in Austin Texas.

Come out to meet Jon Huber, Frank Kapp and Bigfoot and be one of the first in Texas to purchase the new CAO LX2!!!

This will be a box only event, with 5 different specials including a 5 box deal that lands you the new CAO Krammer Guitar!!!!

Oct 24th
Up in Smoke, Irving Texas
Oct. 25th
Arlington Cigar Shop, Arlington Texas
Oct. 27th
Heroes and Legacys, Austin Texas

Members lounges will be open to the public. Come on out and have a great time!!!

For more info and to let them know if you can make it go here http://www.cigarlive.com/forum/t2752...n-texas--.html

If you have never been to a CAO Box Event let me tell you that they give away the best prizes!! Nobody does this kind of event better then CAO!!!

Lookd at the LX2 at CI, They don't look to bad, box is kinda cool looking. Anyways they are priced around $6.50 a stick or so. If the retailers at B&m's don't jack the prices to much higher I plan to try one soon.

I received one of these at the CRA event in Minneapolis, and got another directly from Tim Ozgener before the event itself. I smoked a Toro a few weeks ago - it was good. It was spicy, but didn't pack a huge punch like most Ligeros. I likened it to a LFD Single Ligero. (I like strong stuff). Tim gave me a Belicoso, and said they might not go into production, so I'm hanging on to it. But by the looks of it, it's going to be available. Either way, if you're a fan of stronger stuff, this might be a good "less strong" stick for you - if that makes any sense.

I have one resting in my humi now- a LX2 Robusto. It looks fantastic, and I have heard nothing but rave reviews from those who have smoked them. When I do smoke it, I will let you know!

Sorry it took some time. I have been back and forth from Vegas to Orange County, and I haven't stopped for some time.

As promised!
