  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I have started taking notes on my smokes. I am going to be smoking maduro cigars for the next week or maybe less. Then I am going to switch over to lighter wrapper cigars just to get a good idea of differences.

I smoked this one this morning before school and ran out of time, only had 50 minutes.

Weather sunny no wind comfortable temp
Appearance rectangular box brown and black veins maduro
Draw was good

First draw was hard to describe and was not all that great. It was like mixing all of the drinks in your fridge and trying to describe it, impossible. However it didn't taste bad.

First third started to taste like creamy coffee and the box like shape rounded out / bulged at the cherry.

Second third Creamy coffee with nutty after taste. No buzz.

Last third didn't get to smoke.

It was an okay smoke the beginning was not that great but warmed up and tasted better. I am not sure but maybe my tong was effecting the taste I think all the smoking I have been doing (one a day) is wearing on my taste buds. Either that or it is bite (I do home work or sketch when I smoke so I do not smoke it too fast/hot). I noticed after I go running my tong feels different, with all the breathing it does something and it just feels different than it usually does after I run.

Too bad you were in a hurry, Brett. These are one of my recent go to guys.

I hope you get to spend more time with one soon!

Yea it ruins the experience when you have to dip out quick after smoking. If I get up early tomorrow morning I would have enough time but I won't force myself to get up.

cashedash,

You're off on the right foot, my friend. When I first started smoking cigars, something like the Mx2 would've been too strong for me. You're starting off with the stronger smokes, while I started off with the milder smokes. I tip my hat to you.

My first like 7 cigars where not strong at all and they tasted very dull. I tried stronger cigars and loved them. I have learned about taste in cigars and I can now go back to lighter cigars and I guess you could say understand them better. One of my favorite lighter smokes is the montecristo torpedo I think #4.

Give the MX2 another shot when you aren't rushed. I have a med-full bodied preference as well, and this one & the Black are my fav from CAO. Now if someone could explain why CAO's names so many of their sticks like cars. I'm sure there's a reason to this rhyme.
