  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

CAO Mx2 Robusto 5x52
Wrapper: Connecticut Maduro
Binder: Brazil
Filler: Nicaragua//Honduras/Dominican Republic/Peru
Time in humidor: about 2-3 weeks

This cigars wrapper had a nice strong dark cocoa aroma to it. I had really enjoyed the Brazilia Gol with it's really nice cocoa notes, so this one I was particularly looking forward to. I had two of these, and shared one with a friend.

After lighting, we both agreed on what we were tasting. Chocolate undertones with overtones of... cardboard. It was a medium full body, but since most of the body was cardboard, it wasn't necessarily a good thing. There was lots of nice thick smoke output, and the burn was pretty good. But ultimately, I got a little past the halfway point before I finally put it down as I wasn't really enjoying it - it didn't really get much better.

The Brazilia was very nice. The Italia was nice. Unfortunately, this one just didn't do it for me.
