  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

For my cigar I haven't smoked before review I've chosen the CAO Soprano Soldier

Size: Toro 6"x54
Wrapper: Brazillian mata fina
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Columbian, Dominican, Nicaraguan

Prelight: I'm super excited about this one I bought it about 8 months ago purely because it has a Brazillian mata fina wrapper, which I have yet to be disappointed by. Cut with my Cuban crafters perfect cut. Draw is nice. Earthy flavor on the dry draw.

First third: Starts of with strong leather with hints of coffee and coco. First ash falls off about 1/2 inch in and the burn requires a touch up.

Second third: The coffee comes in a little more in this third. Still mainly leather.

Final third: Leather till it gets too hot and I have to put it down. Was smoking this bad boy too fast trying to keep it lit. smoking time was about a hour fifteen which is quick for me on a smoke this size.

Final thoughts: this cigar was disappointing to me, it was the most ho-hum stick with a mata fina wrapper I've had. For the price I would recommend trying a Man O War Armada.

Also gotta give a shout out to my favorite herfing partner "Buddy"

Too bad it was just so-so, I'm a big fan of the Mata Fina wrapper as well. Thanks for the review.
