  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Full transparency, this is one I’ve smoked a few times before. I was in the mood for Curivari, and needed something I knew I’d like, after trying the Cafe Petit (bitter!)

Opening light had just a hint of pepper on one stick, but this one today has none. Lots of nice woody, berry vibes. Going on in the first third, the berry sweetness fades, leaving a more savory spice. Amazing mushroom paste vibes, over honey-soaked almonds and a touch of orange liquor.

Second third is delightfully woody, sandalwood with soft notes of coffee and brown sugar. Getting reminders of Punch/Partagas spices, and an oh-so-creamy texture. The Corojo is really showing at the midpoint, and I’m there for it, like Aunt Nancy at every single piano recital, with a cat sweater and video camera!

Had a fantastic ash that was nearly as long as the remainder, which fell just as I was going for this pic. Luckily this giant chunk landed on the floor, and not my lap.

Last third contains much of the same, but a more earthy base. Return of the forest funk, complete with mushroom, and cereal grain. A little smoked pancetta fat in the mix, and coriander as well. Really enjoying these! On one sample, the opening had a bit too much pepper, but maybe it was the humidity on that particular stick. The other have been excellent from light to nub. This one’s a winner, comes in 10’s, and is worthy of a few more boxes.
