  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Beutiful box pressed, silky, smooth, dark maduro wrapper. It had a sturdy, slate-grey, pancake stacked ash, and the draw was little on the loose side, but not so bad that it was annoying. The burn was relatively even throughout, and the smoke was thick and creamy with an extremely mellow aroma. The flavors were extremely creamy. The core was earthy during the first half, but it was so creamy you didnt get the bitterness usually associated with the earthy tone. The core became more woody towards the middle of the cigar and maintained its creamy texture. There were hints of tea, cinnamon, and even sublte warm mint. The final third of the cigar added a light spice on top of everything else already packed into the cigar. The flavors became a little more harsh towards the end, but were never bad, and I put it out when it started to burn my fingers. This is one of the most relaxing cigars I have smoked in a long time. It's extremely mellow, and I imagine with a year in a humidor it could be absolutely masterful. I dont normally like Torano's, but I definately have to give credit where credit is due. This blend is well deserving of its place on CA's top 25 of the year. I will definately be stocking up on some of these bad boys!:smokingme

If you guys havent tried one of these, I definately recomend it!!!! I dont thnk you could go wrong.

Toranos don't generally do much for me (and I've tried a LOT of their various offerings) but the 59 Gold is probably one of my very favorite Toranos. You can get them online by the box for a very affordable price...the Toro size, for example, runs about $88 for a box of 24, which is only $3.70 per stick.

That's a good price for a decent stick!

A very well made cigar and a good value. I find the flavor profile too peppery for me though.

Nice review.

Yeah, I wanted to try the torpedo, but for some reason they didnt have them where I went, which is weird since they had every other size of that blend, and they have a good selection in general. Oh well, next time.

I thought the same, Senor Torano was at my B&m a few months ago so we were pretty much stuck buying Toranos. We were'nt disappointed, as I am new enough that I need to smoke new sticks all the time. A little pepppery, but otherwise I enjoyed them.

I enjoyed one of these last night and I echo Benzopryene's comments! My local B&M guy recommended it paired with coffee and it was remarkable.
