Webster Dictionary defines Virtuoso as a person with special knowledge, especially one who excels in skillful techniques. So putting the word virtuoso after the name Carlos Torano is not at all farfetched. I bought a box of Virtuosos at an event at PCB Cigars. I did not have a chance to write a review when I smoked my first Virtuoso, but this being my second I thought I would try.

The look of the Virtuoso was nice to say the least, it was very dark and oily it was a straight vitola and very smooth, with small vein’s. The feel was firm and it was hefty in the hand. It had an aroma of semi-sweet chocolate, and leather with hints of woodsy cedar. It looked to me like it had a triple cap.

So out came my trusty Palio. And I gave it clip. The dry draw flavors were sure to; and did mirror the aromas, semi-sweet chocolate, leather and woodsy cedar, plus there was a spicy pepper taste. Well it’s that time again, time to burn.

Toasting the foot seem to take a little longer than usual, maybe because of the heft, maybe because it was of 54 gage. It did light evenly and the burn was sharp. The smoke was thick and it coated my mouth and lay on my palate nicely. The flavors in the first third mirrored the flavors from the dry draw but the spicy pepper was intense. Not over powering but for sure intense. The finish was a very lengthy coffee. This made me think it would be a good morning smoke. The ash held on throughout the first third, and the burn was sharp.

In the second third it was proving itself to be full flavored. The ash finally fell and the burn was still sharp. I was felling a slight tickle in my mouth. All the flavors continued in their strengths. The finish was still lengthy.

The flavors in the final third was a mirror of the second, strong, intense, and smooth. The flavors even though they were intense, were very smooth. The strength even though it was full was absolutely enjoyable. I have come to this conclusion I love this cigar. I recommend this cigar to anyone.
